Hello! I am Mrs. Anderson. In my classroom I offer semester long courses in Forensic Science, Astronomy, Meteorology, and Ecology.

Forensic Science – During this course the students will study and be able to understand what happens during a crime scene investigation, which will include the different types of evidence that can be collected along with how to identify a suspect. By the end of the semester the student will be able to bring all of this information about evidence together so that they can learn how it can be presented in a court of law  to prove or disprove a case.

Ecology – The students will study the interactions that take place between organisms and their environment. During this class the students will be able to build and study ecosystems that they are able to find in their own schoolyard. Students will also be able to learn how their own actions affect the environment in which they live.

Astronomy -  The study of the universe. When taking this class the students will learn that there are 88 different constellations in our "Milky Way" galaxy.  Students will be able to research a constellation of their choice and then build a shoebox planetarium about that constellation. Students will also learn about telescopes, the planets, their moons, comets, asteroids, meteoroids, and how we explore space.

Meteorology – During this course students will study the weather and climate around them. They will complete a daily weather observation journal about their local weather. The students will also learn how to read a weather map and we will discuss the different types of weather events such as tornadoes, floods, thunderstorms, and hurricanes.
