Currently I teach Family and Consumer Science and Character Education. In the 2009-2010 school year my classes will be a little different than this year. 

I will teach a one semester 7th grade class of Family and Consumer Science. The units that will be included are clothing and textiles, child development to the age of six and personal and family relationships.  

The 8th grade semester class of Family and Consumer Science will include four units. There are nutrition, foods, money management and careers.

Character Education is a nine week required class for all 8th grade students. Character traits and habits of effective teens are studied through literature, situations and activities

  I am fortunate to have nice kitchen equipment, sewing machines and computers in my classroom. My students are usually engaged in hands-on learning.
