Dear Superintendents:

Congratulations!!!   I have just been informed that each of you have a school(s) that will be recognized at an Honor Roll Schools recognition ceremony with State Superintendent Koch at:

Date:                     Tuesday, February 28th

Time:                     1:00 p.m.

Location:              Dewey Elementary, 2040 Cherry St., Quincy 

They will be honoring seven schools.   ISBE has requested that I inform you of this honor and to be sure and invite you and the award-winning schools to this event.   Please keep this information confidential, for planning purposes only, as ISBE has not officially launched the Honor Roll website or sent letters to you, nor other schools.    Letters will be going out later this week and they will officially and publically announce the program and website within the next two weeks.  

Schools being honored:

·         Nauvoo Elementary School

·         LaHarpe Elementary School

·         West Prairie North Elementary School

·         Macomb Junior High School 

Out of the 7 schools being recognized in 3 ROE’s, our region has 4 of them!   Great news!! 

For planning purposes, the event usually lasts between 35-55 minutes.    The Public Information Division at ISBE will be handling media in advance and they will have someone, most likely Matt Vanover, at the event with State Superintendent Koch.
