Congratulations to 8th graders, Grant Feikert & Brynlee Squire, for being chosen by NCES faculty & staff as our students who best represent our school and communities! Brynlee and Grant and their parents attended the IPA Western Region Student Recognition Breakfast at the WIU on May 9th, with Mr. Cox. Attendees were served a big breakfast and all students were recognized with medals for this special honor. The Hancock County Soil & Water Conservation District Board of Directors chose the winners of the 6th Grade Poster Contest, with the theme of “May the Forests Always Be With You.” Congratulations to the 1st Place Winner: Lila Schafer, 6th grader at NCES! Our Jr. High Track Team competed in the IESA Sectionals May 4th. We are happy to announce the following student-athletes qualified for the IESA State Track Meet in Class 2A: Taylor Brownlee in 200m and 4x100m Relay; Elizabeth Kohl 4x100m Relay; Taylynn Denning 4x100m Relay; Ava Murphy 4x100m Relay; Savannah Lamma (alternate) 4x100m Relay, Raven Figge (alternate) 4x100m Relay. They will compete in IESA State Track Meet on May 11th in East Peoria. At 1:15 pm Fri. May 10th we will host an assembly to honor and send off our State Track Qualifiers. Congratulations to our 7th Grade Girls Track Team for winning 1st Place in the Hancock County Track Meet last night! The team scored 110 points! 12 girls set personal bests in their events, including 1st place finishes in the 4x100 meter relay and the 4x400 meter relay. Way to go, Vikings! We will be having a mini concert Kindergarten through 6th grade on Thursday, March 21st, 2024. Each class will sing 1 song. After the elementary concert, the 5-8th grade classes will perform in the Variety Show, which is a variety of different acts prepared by these students such as instrumental acts, magic, singing, and even a skit! The concert will begin at 1:30 pm and will be in the Nauvoo-Colusa Elementary Jr. High Gym. Anybody and everybody and welcome to attend!
