At Viking Time at NCES today, Mrs. Belshaw gave special turkey trophies to 2 student winners of her annual "Planksgiving Challenge" for all PreK-6 students who did planks for as long as they could during P.E. classes. In the first picture, left to right are Ms. Crim, Top Female PreK-6 Student: Nietzea Vinson, Top Male PreK-6 Student: Jacob Helms, and Mr. Schneider. In the other picture, Ms. Crim and Mr. Schneider did a Plank Challenge with Nietzea and Jacob, while Mrs. Belshaw cheered them on. Both students outplanked both staff members! Thank you to Mrs. Belshaw for running the Planksgiving Challenge and to Ms. Crim and Mr. Schneider for participating in the challenge. Congrats to Nietzea and Jacob for being the top plankers at NCES!
The Pre-K parent learning night scheduled for today has been canceled.
The 7th grade boys game has been canceled for tonight.
The 8th grade game is still going on and will start at 5:30.
The 7th Grade Girls Basketball sectional game will be played in Virginia, IL on November 29th @ 6:30.
A fan bus is being offered to our Jr. High students for $3. To ride the bus they will need to obtain and fill out a permission slip from the office.

The PTO meeting scheduled for tonight has been postponed until Nov 29th @ 3:15.
At the meeting new officers will be elected. Participating in PTO gives parents and teachers the opportunity to work together to supplement and enrich the educational experiences of the students. Please consider becoming involved with PTO.

The Scholastic Book Fair will be open until Monday at noon. One last chance to send in money with students to purchase books! We are close to meeting a big goal which would purchase books for every classroom, plus more books for the school library.

It's finally here! We have the iPad winner for our Book Blast! Congratulations to Teagan Seiber! Students have done a fabulous job of completing their Treasure Maps this past week. Nice job with building your home libraries! We are very proud of students, and remember just because the iPad drawing is over does not mean the Book Blast is over. NCES celebrated Red Ribbon Week on Oct. 23-31, 2023. Students created posters to promote making good choices and staying drug free. Tomorrow we will be hosting our annual costume contest in the gym at 1pm with elementary classroom Halloween parties to follow.
Please don't send your student to school in their costume, they will be given time to change into their costume before the contest.
