Preschool Family Fun Night was a great success.
The weather was beautiful, the fishing was so so, the boat ride was
soothing and the hot dogs and s’mores cooked over the open fire were
scrumptious.
On September 8, 2022 our Preschool Families met at the Nauvoo State
Park for an evening of fun for our families. It was great to see our
families interact with their children and other families.
We wish to extend a big thank you to the Nauvoo State Park employees
for providing the fishing equipment and an awesome site to fish, a lake
for a ride in a boat, and the wood for the fire and many picnic tables.
A big thank you also to The Burtalo family who provided boat rides
around the lake and the Squire Family –Nauvoo Red Front- for
organizing the Weiner Roast.
Most of all, we thank our Preschool Parents for the giving of time to
their child(ren). Parents are a child’s number 1 teacher. Memories
created and shared are the best memories ever.

Due to an inventory oversight, the lunch entree for September 30th of a corn dog will be swapped out with next week's entree of chicken nuggets. The rest of the lunch of those two meals are identical. Sorry for any inconvenience.
Don't forget that Friday is pickup day for the school fundraiser items. These items can not be taken on a bus, so please make arrangements to be at the school to pick them up.
The NC Sports Boosters would like to thank the students, parents, staff, community members and local businesses who contributed in any way to our recent hog roast. We had a very successful event, serving around 250 people and raising almost $3500 for our school. Whether you sold tickets, donated a dessert, worked at the event, donated financially or just came and enjoyed an evening with friends, it all added up to a successful night. Thank you to all!

On 9/20/2022, Mrs. Rose and her Ag I and Ag II classes enjoyed a visit from the Illinois FFA Section 11 Officers. Thank you to the FFA officers and their schools for allowing these students the release time to visit NCES and teach valuable lessons and promote the FFA to our Ag students. Good Morning. Please remember the Sports Boosters Hog Roast is Saturday, Sept. 17th, from 5-7 p.m. at the NC Elementary. Also, school spirit shirt order forms are due Monday, Sept. 19th. We appreciate your support!
Reminder to parents of NCES students who are participating in sports this year. Our annual Sports Boosters Hog Roast is Saturday, September 17th, from 5-7 p.m. All athletes are encouraged to sell their hog roast tickets and to sign up to work at the event. Adult and student help is needed. Desserts and supplies are also needed. Please contact Vicky Miller to volunteer or make a donation. Please remind your student to sign up in Vicky's office for a shift. This is our main fundraising project and the proceeds help buy uniforms, equipment and fund activities for the students. Thank you!

Here are announcements we need parents and students to know prior to First Day, August 15th: School opens and breakfast starts at 7:40 am. No students are allowed in the building prior to 7:40 am. Parents dropping off students as Car Riders must enter/exit campus from the South entrance, NOT the North entrance, that is for Busses only! Car Riders enter school via East doors by Old Gym. All Bus Riders enter/exit school via the Northwest double doors by Old Gym. All Visitors must enter/exit the Main Office door on East side of the building. Viking Time (Announcements) starts at 8:05 am. Warning bell rings at 8:05 am. School starts at 8:10 am. School dismisses at 2:55 pm. Miscellaneous Info: Car Riders get picked up on the East side of NCES via the East doors by the Old Gym. Follow the flow of traffic. Stay in your car. Drive slowly. PreK parents are approved to escort their child into PreK for the First Day only. Jr. High Student Schedules and Planners will be passed out in 1A Homerooms. School Picture Day is August 25, 2022. Registration for Nauvoo-Colusa Elementary School will begin August 3rd from 10:00am - 6:00pm and August 4th from 8:00am - 4:00pm for parents who do not have internet access at home. You may come into the office to use a computer here. Online registration will begin those days also. DO NOT TRY TO REGISTER YOUR STUDENT UNTIL THOSE DAYS!!!!!!
